Chairman of the British Parachute Association's Disciplinary Appeals Tribunal.

Background

Before being called to the Bar Chris served in the British Army as a member of the Parachute Regiment. His military experience is remarkably comprehensive and includes postings with 16 Air Assault Brigade's Pathfinder Platoon and as Team Leader of the famous Red Devils Parachute Display Team 
 
Chris was Chairman of the British Parachute Association for 7 years. This voluntary, annually elected position, brought a wealth of experience in mediation between opposing political factions and sports law topics including athlete contracts, anti doping procedures, personal injury, disability discrimination, defamation, instructor negligence, disciplinary hearings and appeals thereof. Chris is presently the Chairman of the Association's Disciplinary Appeals Tribunal and author of their Tribunal Procedure Rules.

Chris has a general common law practice with experience in the following areas:

Family

  • Private Law Children - Child Arrangements Orders (Residence, Contact) Parental Responsibility, Prohibited steps and Specific Issue Orders.
  • Injunctions - Non-Molestation, Occupation Orders, Forced Marriage.
  • Care - acting for parents, relatives and children.

Civil Litigation

  • Credit Hire and Personal Injury arising from Road Traffic Accidents.  Chris is a keen biker and is knowledgeable in all aspects of Motorcycling. He has also previously held a Heavy Goods Vehicle driving licence and a Private Pilots Licence.
  • Housing including Possession hearings, Service Charges, Boundary Disputes, Eviction of Trespassers,  Travellers claims- recovery of land and injunctions, Anti-Social Behaviour Injunctions in social housing - applications by landlords for exclusion orders and Committal Hearings. 
  • Insolvency including Winding Up and Bankruptcy Petitions.
  • Holiday Claims
  • Coroner’s Inquests – Representing Military Families, Local Authorities and Inquests resulting from Road Traffic Accidents.

Chris now lives in Berriew, Powys, Wales.
