Areas of practice

Family

  • Private law children - at all stages, from first appearance through to final hearing, including interim contested and finding of fact hearings, in the Family Proceedings', County and High Courts. Pauline has represented parents, grandparents and children and has been involved in cases concerning, for example, sexual abuse, serious domestic violence and removal from the jurisdiction.
  • Public law children - representation of parents and Local Authorities in the Family Proceedings', County and High Courts in cases concerning, for example, sexual abuse and abduction.
  • Ancillary relief - representation of husbands, wives and interveners at every stage of proceedings, in the County and High Courts. Experience in dealing with foreign assets and interlocutory injunctions.
  • Injunctive relief under the Family Law Act.
  • Quasi-family matters including TOLATA applications, civil proceedings for the return of dowries, applications under the Protection from Harassment Act and defending CSA prosecutions.

Civil

All civil matters including personal injury, landlord and tenant, contract and bankruptcy matters. She undertakes both Claimant and Defendant work and has particular experience of:-

  • Advising on quantum for infants and adults, liability and prospects of success;
  • Application hearings;
  • Case Management Conferences;
  • Direction hearings;
  • Drafting Particulars of Claim; 
  • Fast and Multi Track Trials
  • Infant approval and patient approval hearings; 
  • Possession hearings;
  • Small claims hearings;
  • Winding up petitions;
  • Consumer Credit Act matters.     

Criminal

Magistrates'/Youth Court: prosecution and defence work in trials, particularly Road Traffic Act offences and exceptional hardship and special reasons arguments.  

Immigration

All manner of Immigration matters including;

  • Entry Clearance;
  • Asylum Appeals;
  • Deportation hearings
  • Bail hearings.
