Stuart Lewis has over 20 years experience in Family Law advising and representing clients at all court levels, in particular multi-issue cases involving both disputes over child arrangements and the division of assets on divorce.
Financial Remedy Proceedings
He is a specialist in Financial Remedy proceedings and works solely on a private client basis. He is regularly instructed to advise client’s and solicitors in complex matters and acts for a range of individuals who may have modest assets, to those persons with high net worth. His approach to litigation looks to reduce hostility and the cost of divorce wherever reasonably possible. He is highly experienced in court litigation and can advise and act effectively, and robustly, through all stages of the process including pre-proceedings advice. Instructions are regularly accepted involving complex cases with issues relating to the sharing of Pension Assets, Family Businesses including farms, third party claims, injunctive relief and matters relating to assets acquired through inheritance and both before and after marriage.
Child Arrangements
Stuart Lewis also has considerable experience in all children related matters whether standalone proceedings or when also progressing during the currency of Financial Remedy proceedings. He acts for parents and extended family including stepparents in matters relating to Contact and Residence, Jurisdictional issues, Parental Responsibility, the enforcement of court orders and matters involving allegations of parental alienating behaviours.
Domestic Abuse
His expertise extends to applications for non-molestation orders acting for those in need of protection and those defending unmeritorious applications.
PUBLIC ACCESS
Stuart Lewis is Public access/Direct access accredited. Early advice can be offered and support provided throughout all stages of proceedings including enforcing orders after proceedings have ended.
